Immersed in Christ: Sunday, July 11, 2021

Updated: Jul 12, 2021

Stop…and Go!

Jesus pinned his hope on the Mass to keep his followers together: to keep his words alive among us and keep our hearts on fire. For the Mass to do this, all we have to do is pay attention while at Mass, understand what we are paying attention to, and participate fully, actively, and consciously.

To do this well, keep in mind the five purposes of our celebration:

1. Cultivating awareness of our baptismal identity

2. Committing to discipleship

3. Dedicating ourselves to mission

4. Surrendering ourselves to ministry to others

5. Becoming good stewards

Now that you spent the past few weeks reflecting on how the Mass is celebrated, you know what you are seeing and hearing -and, above all, doing- at Mass. All that remains is to participate with a fresh understanding and let Eucharist become the “source and summit of your Christian life”. And share it with others.

Go forth! To live and give the Good News!

May “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of the Father, and the communion of the Holy Sprit be with you”. Amen.
